Week 7 Bengals vs Packers
BENGALS 28, PACKERS 10 Despite getting fucked in the ass by Tecmo throughout the first half, the Bengals move to 8-1 with a hard fought victory over the Pack Attack. Bengals receive and Leonard Russell fumbles on his first carry, recovered by the Pack. Bengal D puts up a stand to stop Okoye and limit the damage to 3. 3-0 Pack. Bengals would then go down the field and score a TD, Everett to Irvin. 7-3 Bengals. Then I force punt, but soon after Russell would cough it up AGAIN and the Pack would cash in on a 45 yard JJ on the next play, Marino to Carrier. 10-7 Pack, halftime. Pack get the ball coming out of the half and a 3 and out is forced. I drive the field and eventually find a streaking Whitebread for 6. 14-10. Then the Pack hit a long JJ to Thigpen, one of a very few plays for positive yardage in this game for GB, but the drive stalls out and they turn it over on downs. Bengals get back to work and decide to go to the ground. However, the Packers were ready for it, calling run after run and eventually the Bengals would face 4th and 15 deep in their own territory. I said "fuck it" and went for it, thinking that if I didn't get it, I had a 4 point lead so a FG could do nothing, and I figured my best shot of stopping the long JJ action would be to give Ghost a short field with which to work. Leonard Russell caught a pass out of the backfield, made a sick juke, and got out of bounds just past the first down marker. Bengals would drive the whole way down and get in the endzone on a Desmond Howard TD reception. 21-10. Pack go 4 and out and the Bengals would go back to the air, this time Everett would hook up with streaking Whitebread again for another TD in junk time, making it 28-10. Players of the game: Jim Everett: 12/16 240 yds 4 TD 0 INT Whitebread 3 catches for 75 yards and 2 TD The Bengal defense which allowed exactly: 6 rushing yards to Okoye, the 45 yard blind JJ TD to Carrier, the long JJ to Thigpen, and that's it.
