Week 10: SD vs. WAS . . .
SD 21 WAS 21 Holy shit! No third person recaps at this time. I will be as concise as possible in an effort to avoid any "further" confusion on this matter: QTR 1: WAS fumbled on KR; Emmitt scored on run (7-0); WAS is stopped on downs; Emmitt scored on run (14-0) QTR 2: WAS's Klinger threads a pass to Watters (14-7); Emmitt injured on 3rd down, SD punts, WAS punts to SD after stop: Hilliard runs and then craziness ensues . . . CPR input: Techmochrist messages me for a game and keeps typing message, after message, locking my computer up as I go back and forth from Nesticle to AIM. Nesticle freezes and the video is destroyed. I get back with Chiefs and tell him what happened. He understands and we both agree to reenact the game to the best of our abilities and continue at the point where the game froze (and with Emmitt on the bench to reenact his injury). Let me say that this is my fault as I thought I closed AIM out while playing. We load the game again, reenact it, and continue from the point of freezing . . . QTR 2: SD's Hilliard drives for a few short gains and Esiason tries to push a threaded pass to Gault- no avail . . . QTR 3: SD begins the half by pounding the ball with Hillard, in bad I may add. SD is stopped on 4th down and WAS takes over to lay a TD strike to Watters again from Davey K. QTR 4: SD pushes the ball forward on its ensuing drive and Hilliard (still in bad) scores to make it (21-21). Back and forth until OT. OT: WAS chews the clock and takes the ball down field to its 30 yard line. Klinger makes a throw that is INT'd by Daryl Williams. SD's Hilliard (still in bad) drives the ball past several defenders to the SD 40 yard line with 40 seconds to go . . . and fumbles. WAS cannot connect with any passes in the remaining minutes. A pretty bad way to go out for both of us. Much props goes out to Chiefs for taking the time to reenact the game. However, the most important point to take from this is Emmitt's injury. It is not official according to the reenacted ROM. Admin: What to do about the injury? What are the options?
