The 1993 WTF College Draft: Available Defensive Linemen
Thanks once again to Paulie for these DL Bios!!! All DL will have 50 quickness. If the player has 19, 25, 31, 38 MS, they will have RS/RP of 25/31 If the player has 44 MS, they will have RS/RP of 25/38 If the player has 50 MS, they will have RS/RP of 31/44 If the player has 56 MS, they will have RS/RP of 38/50 If the player has 63 MS, they will have RS/RP of 38/50 If the player has 69 MS, they will have RS/RP of 44/56 Here's your 1993 DL draft class! Enjoy! Name: Ty Parten Position: DL College: Arizona Outlook: Ty Parten is a tall defensive end coming out of Arizona. He has very limited upside and is a long shot to make a team's roster. MS HP INT % 31 44 19 60 25 38 13 30 38 50 25 10 Tecmo Comparison: Jeff Lageman Name: Ronnie Dixon Position: DL College: Cincinnati Outlook: This Cincinnati Bearcat almost assuredly will not get drafted. Look elsewhere for defensive help. Anywhere else. MS HP INT % 25 38 13 80 19 31 13 10 31 44 13 10 Tecmo Comparison: Greg Kragen Name: John Copeland Position: DL College: Alabama Outlook: John Copeland was a first-team All American at the University of Alabama. The Crimson Tide won the National Title during his senior campaign, where he anchored one of the grea-*test*-('") defenses in college football history. Copeland would be a perfect run-stuffer for any team, and is able to get some heat on the quarterback. MS HP INT % 44 56 25 70 50 63 31 20 38 50 19 10 Tecmo Comparison: Les Miller with Neil Smith upside. Name: Eric Curry Position: DL College: Alabama Outlook: Curry was teammates with John Copeland, and although not as dominant at the college level he may be a better fit at the pro-level. He has minimal downside and all the potential in the world. MS HP INT % 44 63 13 40 38 56 13 40 50 69 13 20 Tecmo Comparison: Renaldo Turnbull Name: Dan Williams Position: DL College: Toledo Outlook: Williams has the size and speed to help out almost anyone defensive front. Though he probably won't anchor the line, he still will be a valuable fit for years to come. MS HP INT % 50 56 13 60 56 63 13 20 44 50 13 20 Tecmo Comparison: Freddie Joe Nunn Name: Coleman Rudolph Position: DL College: Georgia Tech Outlook: Though he doesn't possess spectacular speed, Rudolph will most likely be a very good late value pick. He is an above average tackler, and may fit nicely on someone's practice squad. MS HP INT % 31 50 13 70 38 56 13 20 25 44 13 10 Tecmo Comparison: Garin Veris Name: Michael Strahan Position: DL College: Texas Southern Outlook: Strahan has been bombarded with college awards. In his senior season alone he had 19 sacks, and 32 tackles for a loss. The only knock on him is that he is coming from a Division 1-AA school. Will he have what it takes against much better competition? Only time will be tell, but it seems that he has the tools to not only be a game changer, but a dominant player for ages to come. A first round talent if I have ever seen one, and has the chance to go number 1 overall. MS HP INT % 69 75 25 60 63 69 25 30 56 63 19 5 50 56 13 5 Tecmo Comparison: Bruce Smith Name: Dan Footman Position: DL College: Florida State Outlook: Footman has a chance to be a solid contributor for years to come. Though he isn't flashy, he gets the job done. A nice mid to late round selection for some team. MS HP INT % 44 56 13 60 38 50 13 30 50 63 13 10 Tecmo Comparison: Les Miller Name: John Parella Position: DL College: Nebraska Outlook: Parella may not be the toughest player, or best tackler, but he does offer some speed at the defensive end position. He should find a home on someone's roster. MS HP INT % 50 50 13 70 56 56 13 10 44 44 13 20 Tecmo Comparison: Burt Grossman Name: Raylee Johnson Position: DL College: Arkansas Outlook: Johnson is not highly touted coming out of Arkansas, but scouts seem to think he may have what it takes at the next level. Johnson has some enormous upside and may be worth taking a risk on in the second or third round. MS HP INT % 44 63 13 60 50 69 13 20 38 56 13 20 Tecmo Comparison: Trace Armstrong Name: Sterling Palmer Position: DL College: Florida State Outlook: Palmer should be able to be had in the 4th or 5th round, and might make an attractive practice squad player, or a hold over for a year or two. MS HP INT % 31 44 13 70 38 50 13 20 25 38 13 10 Tecmo Comparison: Ron Stallworth Name: Al Fontenot Position: DL College: Baylor Outlook: An under the radar prospect from Baylor, Fontenot should be drafted. He will probably be solid, but not spectacular. MS HP INT % 44 56 19 60 38 50 19 30 50 63 19 10 Tecmo Comparison: Sam Clancy Name: Michael McCrary Position: DL College: Wake Forest Outlook: If not for another Michael he would be the top defensive end coming out of college. He was often over looked in college though, as he played for a team more known for its basketball team than football. His senior season he broke the Demon Deacon record for sacks in a season (16) and sacks in a career (30). A very solid selection for any team in need of a pass rusher. MS HP INT % 50 69 13 50 56 75 13 20 44 63 13 20 38 56 13 10 Tecmo Comparison: Chris Doleman Name: Jeff Zgonina Position: DL College: Purdue Outlook: Besides having a last name I have no idea how to pronounce, Zgonina should be able to contribute to a team looking for depth or in need of a defensive lineman. MS HP INT % 44 63 19 80 38 56 13 20 Tecmo Comparison: William Fuller Name: Troy Wilson Position: DL College: Pittsburg State (Kan.) Outlook: A late round selection or practice squad player only. Do not look for him to contribute right away. MS HP INT % 31 50 13 60 25 44 13 30 38 56 13 10 Tecmo Comparison: Reuben Davis Name: Leonard Renfro Position: DL College: Colorado Outlook: Back away slowly and nobody gets hurt. Seriously, do not pick this guy. MS HP INT % 25 31 13 80 31 38 13 20 Tecmo Comparison: Keith Ferguson Name: Dana Stubblefield Position: DL College: Kansas Outlook: Stubblefield has been highly touted coming out of Kansas, and should be an impact player on defense. Stubblefield should be an immediate upgrade for almost any team. MS HP INT % 50 63 25 70 44 56 25 20 56 69 31 10 Tecmo Comparison: Richard Dent Name: Carl Simpson Position: DL College: Florida State Outlook: Not much to see here. Look elsewhere for help. MS HP INT % 38 44 13 80 44 50 13 10 31 38 13 10 Tecmo Comparison: Leon Seals Name: Gilbert "The Gravedigger" Brown Position: DL College: Kansas Outlook: What he lacks in speed, he makes up for in brute strength and size. He is the Ivan Drago of the football world, he is just that much bigger than everyone else. While he wont ever be able to sack the quarterback on a consistent basis, he will eat running backs alive. He is the ideal run-stopping nose tackle. MS HP INT % 19 69 13 60 25 75 13 10 19 63 13 20 19 56 13 10 Tecmo Comparison: William Perry Name: Chidi Ahanotu Position: DL College: California Outlook: A safe pick for someone wanted to upgrade their defensive line. He is not a premier talent, but certaintly has potential to be one. You could do much worse than Ahanotu in the middle rounds. MS HP INT % 44 63 13 70 50 69 13 20 38 56 13 10 Tecmo Comparison: Gerald Williams with Pierce Holt upside Name: Maa Tanuvasa Position: DL College: Hawaii Outlook: Tanuvasa is a native of Hawaii and helped the Rainbows to the Western Conference Championship his senior year. Tanuvasa should be a nice late round value pick, with a chance to start for some teams. MS HP INT % 38 56 13 70 44 63 13 20 31 50 13 10 Tecmo Comparison: Tory Epps
