The 1992 WTF College Draft: Available Tight Ends
Name: Derek Brown Position: TE College: Notre Dame Outlook: Having Brown out there on offense is akin to having a sixth offensive lineman. He isn’t going to win you many games catching the ball but in offenses that like to run the ball, this Fighting Irish product is a first-rate blocker at his position and could be a late-round steal. His lack of speed will prevent him from being a force, but should still be a serviceable addition to someone’s offense. He’ll likely find his way onto a WTF roster as a backup for his first season. Pass. MS HP BC RC % 25 38 50 31 50 31 44 50 38 25 31 50 50 44 25 Tecmo Comparison: John Talley Name: Craig Thompson Position: TE College: North Carolina A&T Outlook: Where? MS HP BC RC % 25 38 50 31 80 19 31 50 25 20 Name: Thomas McLemore Position: TE College: Southern U. Outlook: This Southern University product isn’t likely to cause much of an impact in the pro game. MS HP BC RC % 19 31 50 25 80 25 38 50 31 20 Name: Deems May Position: TE College: North Carolina Outlook: Aside from having a cool name, Deems May has little chance of cracking a WTF roster, although he is an average blocker at his position. He does have pretty good upside, so he could be worth a shot with your fourth round pick if nothing else looks appealing. MS HP BC RC % 19 44 50 31 60 25 50 50 38 20 31 56 50 44 20 Tecmo Comparison: Alfredo Roberts Name: Dave Moore Position: TE College: Pittsburgh Outlook: Moore is an outstanding blocker, has OK speed for a TE, and can catch reasonably well for his position. He should have a long, if not productive, WTF career. MS HP BC RC % 31 56 50 44 50 31 63 50 50 25 25 50 50 38 25 Tecmo Comparison: Mark Bavaro Name: Mark Chmura Position: TE College: Boston College Outlook: The fas-*test*-('"), best pass-catching TE in the draft, who also isn’t half bad in the blocking game, Chmura could be a first-round selection. Now if only he can keep his junk in his pants around teenage girls, he could have a long and productive career.
