Steelers @ Browns Wild Card Round
Ok first things first. I go to pick my team and look down at my controller and the toggle switch is completely gone. Just broken off. So I pull some McGyver shit and pull the switch off the other toggle and force it onto the controller, and away we go. Steelers receive, and their first shotgun jj attempt is a picked play, and Darren Perry, the rookie, comes down with the interception. A couple Barry rushes result in a quick score. 7-0 Browns. Steelers than drive down on a long drive full of jj's and cc's and are forced with a 4th and goal at the 2. Lloyd blitzes, but Montana just gets it off to Herschel Walker for a touchdown.7-7. Browns get the kick with 4 minutes left, and decided long ago that they were not going to play the gimmicky time game in this one. Too many bad things can happen. Barry again carries the entire drive, and caps it off with 2:30 left in half. Swamp drives down and gets a jj touchdown pass to Jeffires, I believe, with 23 seconds left in half. Peete's bomb is intercepted to end the half. 14-14, half. Browns receive the second half kick, and with Barry in BAD conditon, it becomes the Rodney Peete show. Peete took the short 6-7 yard rushes and had a couple nice completions along the way, including a diving reception by Jamie Mueller on 3 and 14. Peete runs the ball in the next play. 21-14 Browns. Steelers come right back with some nice running and timely passing. Another Montana toss makes it 21-21 with 4 minutes left. Fearing a time management approach with 4 minutes the left, the Steelers onside it. Browns recover and drive to the 15 yard line or so and are faced with a 4th and 2 with 2:30 left in the game. Knowing a fg would still give Swamp plenty of time I elect to go for it. Peete runs to the bottom of the screen, but Swamp is all over it, but leaves a wide open Barry Sanders at the top of the screen. Barry takes the pass to the house. 28-21, Browns. Swamp still has some time left but his pass 2 play is picked, and Montana overthrows it to Browns DB Eric Turner with 1 minute left.
