What I'd like both teams involved in this trade to do is explain a little bit of the rationale behind making the trade and why you consider it to be fair.
I don't understand the swap of WR, in my mind after Ingram's gain, Clark and Ingram are roughly equal with Ingram having a MS advantage and Clark having better REC.
Giants lose their top DL (Doleman), top LB (O'Neal), and top DB (Woodson--who is unquestionably one of the top defenders in the game) in exchange for a couple average or maybe slightly above average DBs.
I understand the Giants' need to acquire some running backs to replace Allen but a couple of 44 MS guys will not help enough, given the status of their OL.
Granted they are acquiring a ton of picks but as everyone knows, the draft is full of speculation and not knowing what you're going to get....anyone could end up a dud. Plus the draft picks being traded are likely to be late-round picks given how the Steelers have done this year, and they will probably be even better next year. A late first round pick is not likely to be a star player compared with a player picked in the top 10.
I guess I'm saying I don't really like this trade and I find it somewhat crippling to the Giants franchise. Really, that is the only thing I'm looking for in deciding the fairness of a trade--whether or not the trade is flat-out ridiculous or crippling to a franchise. However, if both guys can convince me that it's fair, I'm more than willing to be persuaded.

My feeling on this is that with no real running back, no real quarterback, and an aging o-line, Mr. TSB has decided to build things from the ground up. I think he is trying to get value for any player right now, as he tries to build for the future. By the time he contends in the playoffs, some of his star players may be too old. Why he felt he could get better value with these players with a trade with a single partner is beyond me. I felt he could get much more by offering these players as single commodities.
Swamp's plan is to contend now and I feel he is doing just that. His defense will be unbelievable. He did trade away a ton of picks. It's never good to trade away your future, but Rod Woodson and O'Neal are proven commodities, where the draft is a crap shoot. I think Swamp is trying to ride the Montana train until the end of his contract and then worry about his future.
I don't necessarily think this is the best move for Mr.TSB, but I don't really consider it an unfair trade. TSB is back to his gambling ways. I believe I understand the rationale behind it for both teams, but would like to hear their side as well.

My plan is to completely rebuild my team and put what i feel will be a better team next season. I understand that the draft is not 100% in which a player will be good one, but i believe in my rebuilding process and must follow through with it. I feel my trade with swamp is is the best I can do as i have talked to numerous owners who really have nothing to offer other than a barf bag and a lame duck. Swamp is the only owner that i feel has made an effort to work out trades(and he is a complete pain in the ass in the process). I won't speak on his behalf on why he is making trades.
All i know I need to rebuild this team and I feel I have a little something to prove here in WTF as this is the only league I'm having problems winning. It is a huge challenge for me and i love it. I'm trying my best to make my team better. Woodson is just not to fit in my plan. My drones do nothing at all. Woodson is not enough and I'm trying to create some balance. My choice is to part with him and get some drone help. I added that with Lake and Guyton, but lost Oneal in the process. I have no choice but to let it out that i will draft a couple LB's in this upcoming draft and this is why i need the picks. The RB's are to my judgment the best RB's available. 24 and 25 years young for Dextar Carter and Lo White with 44ms. The swap of WR for me is to add a bit younger player hoping that he will be around in my playoff runs. Clark is 1 or 2 years older.
The picks seem pretty obvious why i want them. I can go on and on why I'm doing this trade. I'm trying to build a better team. My defense will be 100 times better next season. My offense to me really does not matter as i feel people know i can score when i need to with less as I got to NTL title game with the worse offense and was the only owner who scored on Lord in the playoffs. 20 points! To me Lord is the best defensive tecmo player out there and to score 20 that is huge when he was shutting out some high power offenses. I love to build defense so giving up Woodson was so tough, but I have a better defense now than i had before with this trade and it will get better.

I guess with the 4 year contract already used, you were kind of in a bind as to what to do with Woodson. There is almost no way you are going to be able to replace Leslie O'Neal in this draft unless you grab Kirkland and get a great roll, although he is obviously younger and has time to be molded into a better player.
Seems to me Swamp is kind of mortgaging his future for a chance to compete now. I think everyone is beginning to realize the importance of youth, and once Montana retires, which could happen in two more offseasons, that team will take a major hit, and will not have accumulated players through the draft to help their future. Montana's retirement will also coincide with the time that Woodson will be getting up in years and the Steelers won't have a four-year contract to save him.
I agree with Paul that selling off the players one at a time would've garnered a much bigger haul, but if this is what you want to do, I guess it's alright.
I'm gonna think on this one but I'm leaning towards approval at this point.

Approved, as long as Swamp is still on board.
I'm just glad I don't have to face the Steelers twice a year. This trade will either end up GREAT for the Giants or horrible. Time and draft rolls will tell.
