San Fran - New England trade
San Fran sends to NE: Mike Croel Kerry Cash 2nd round draft pick 1992 2nd round draft pick 1993 4th round draft pick 1993 New England sends to SF: Bo Jackson Rodney Holman Daryl Talley I Arncoem agree to the terms of this trade between sstruck and I.

sstruck2- 01-03-2008

Agreed.

opus- 01-03-2008

ya know this is bo jackson right 75 ms best RB in the game and you got 2nd rounders?!?! I think my overpaying for flipper has started something bad.

LordSummerisle- 01-03-2008

I can't approve this at present. See post below for modified version.

LordSummerisle- 01-03-2008

Have spoken with Arn and have come up with what I feel is a more fair compromise. Patriots receive: Mike Croel Kerry Cash 49ers 1992 1st round pick 49ers 1993 3rd round pick 49ers 1993 4th round pick 49ers receive: Bo Jackson Rodney Holman Darryl Talley Struck, please respond to this and say whether or not you agree. Having a 1st round pick I think will help offset the loss of a star player moreso than two 2nd rounders would. Thanks.

Post Edited: You are right Arn. I shouldn't have stepped on toes. This was my opinion and should have kept it to myself. I neglected to consider that the trade was still ongoing. I must remind everyone here though that Lord is not the commisioner. With that being said, I have NO problem with the way the league is ran, If Lord rules it fair than I am sure it is fair. Myself and Lord get along just fine and I agree with his decisions 99% of the time. But, I am still a league member, and if I would like to voice a concern or comment I have every right to. Sorry about the timing of my post. I apologize Arn, my comments were placed where they needn't be.

trade
Edited. I am at a loss for words with how some of you ppl have acted. Good forbid I have RB on m team, since having Ron Wolfley be my starter this past season! I haven't heard or seen a single post about how SF is in bad shape and is hurting the league bc my starting RB Ernest Byner who is younger than BO has aged 2x and now sits on the bench. Haven't heard that SF should get a higher draft pick bc we used a crap RB in Ron Wlfley this season, who isn't even a starter on the orig rom, had him age, as well as didn't qualuify for Prog gain.. Where was the uproar for support of my team w all of this? Not even to closely remark on the fact that my 2 OL's retired and another aged, and then the fact that my best LB Ray Childress who is also younger than Bo aged last season as well.. I have nothing in the d-back field except for Ronnie Lott, who btw went from leading the league in INTs for most of the 1st season, to 2 interceptions this season, after a progression gain! 2 interceptions, how scarry is Ronnie Lott w his 56 int and 2 interceptions! Some or even most of you have more than 2 ints w your 38 int LBs, my worst DB has 2! Then if want to consider the rest of my offense, I didn't have WR w more than 56 rec until I drafted Mike Pritchard last draft.. He's at 63.. What about 95% of the rest of the teams? They have 69rec or better for at least 1 of their WRs, but I have none. Thank god for Brent Jones, bc without him I would have nothing at all, so that limited my offense the last 2 seasons to Warren Moon who is old as fuck, and Brent Jones my Tight End! Brent was covered by every single DB when I played this season bc that has been all that I have had, it hasn't been a mistery that the ball was going to be thrown to Brent Jones when he has 4x the amount of RECs anyone else on my team. So their's my team.. A bunch of old, aged, and retired players w. out a running back for 2 season, a yeah, forgot Tom Rathman, he was injured 6 times last season!! SO there's my team, I don't and haven't heard a single voice in 2 seasons that the SF franchise might not be in the best shape and able to compete in the league so lets look out for them or make sure they have this player or these draft picks, etc.. I have heard nothing except for trade my 2 or 3 players that are halfway decent and go screw yourself on everything else! You don't know how many times I've been contacted w/ "trade me Croel, trade my Cash trade me Brent Jones"... That's all that I've heard this entire off season! I haven't had even a chacne at a RB in 2 seasons, now I get one.. Don't forget this from team that lost it's first 5 of 6 games this season, and it's first 6 games last season! Man where do some of you get off? Do you want me to not win a single game before I'm allowed to have a 56ms or better RB? Not a single other person talked to New England about a Bo trade so don't take that out on me, and I went through aim every day and asked each and every one of you if you had any trade talks with me, and that I need a rb. I inciated every conversation w/ every owner, and some of you I even wrote Private Messages to asking about some trade action that some I heard back from and others I didn't hear back from at all, but I still tried to contact every owner to see what I could do to get a RB on my team IF this deal is null in void for any reason I am gone from this league, there is no possible way that I would want to stay in a league where the whinning of the jealous players involved can take a team that has been decimated by aging and retirements, give up it's 2 best young talents for the future, as well as it's draft picks for a legit shot at RB in a deal between 2 adults that was agreed upon, and now told I can't have the 30 year old stud RB on my team. There's nothing left on my team as is and now there isn't even a chance at a future without letting this trade happen so I CAN'T BE PART OF A LEAGUE W NO FUTURE FOR ME! If you have spoken to me even 1x on aim, or a chat during a game, you know that I have never 1x complained about ANYTHING, never once bitched about a trade or this or that, period! I have always been fair to everyone and never been out of line or acted jealous. How nice would Flipper have been w. Moon? Ask yourself that.. How many ppl did I bitch about that topic to? How nice would have Barry Sanders fit in on my team when he was traded? NOt a single peep out of me. If anyone feels that this trade in any way shape or form should be taken back and not allowed for me to have BO Jackson than that is Bullshit and I wish you the best of luck bc you are a too immature for anything that I would like to consider myself a part of. For the rest of you that understand my position I thank you and appreceite your support, as I will ALWAYS continue to give you mine. Erik

I would prefer nobody but me, Eamon, Struck, or Arn respond to this thread. Like many of you, I am not crazy about this trade but I want to give the owners the right to do what they see fit with their franchises. I think switching from two 2nd rounders to a 1st and a 3rd gives Struck a better shot of landing a star to help replace Bo. It has been my contention that to trade a top-tier superstar you must receive top talent in return. The modified trade gives a better chance, in my mind, of enabling that. It's perfectly OK not to like the trade but please save your banter about it until after both parties have agreed and the admins have signed off on it.

sstruck2- 01-04-2008

Obviously, I thought the initial trade was fair. An aging star for four young solid starters (Croel, Cash, 2 2nd round picks). Maybe my assumption that 2 2nd round picks will equal 2 solid starters is wishful thinking? I'm OK with the trade compromise that Lord has posted.

arncoem- 01-04-2008

Thanks SSTRUCK.. I appreciete it.

bpkcchiefs- 01-04-2008
