OPus' Midseason Reports AFC EAST
1. New Orleans (5-4)
The saints continue their just above .500 play as we reach the midpoint of season 3. Neither Mcgwire or Majkowski have been able to grab a hold of the starting job and the QB controversy is still brewing. Marion Butts is quietly having one of the best years in the WTF and the defense is the best in the AFC.
2. Cleveland (5-4)
The addition of Barry has made a considerable impact in Cleveland, and has the Browns seeking their first playoff berth in WTF history. Can Paulie keep his emotions in check and play good tecmo after a 4 game skid? We shall see.
3. Miami (3-6)
Miami continues to struggle after capturing the AFC South in the inaugural WTF season. Long bombs from Favre to Givins have been providing most of the offense. Neal Anderson has been struggling, averaging 7.6 yds a carry for the season. The defense is also a bit soft after a big trade to secure Favre have pushed many unproven players into the spotlight.
4. Atlanta (3-6)
The Falcons are in the midst of rebuilding under new coach CDR, and the pains can be felt this season. Thurman continues to produce but the Falcons have not been able to score consistently. Marinovich is having a reasonable year and should be the QB of the future for them.
5. New England (0-8)
No Bo = No wins.
The Bo trade has wrecked the Patriots so far and turned their offense into one the the worst in the league. Injuries have played a part and too much pressure is being put on Kreig and Hill to produce and they have not responded. SStruck2 will look to rebuild in the draft next year.
AFC WEST
1. Seattle (9-1)
Barry who? The Hawks have surprised everyone and are off to a stellar start so far. I dont think we have enough talent to be a true super bowl contender but Ill keep taking the wins.
2. Pittsburgh (7-3)
The Steel Curtain is quietly in 2nd place in the AFC, and poising themselves for a playoff run. Coach Swamp has this team loaded with talent, and need to get over the hump and into the Super Bowl as the team is a bit old.
3. Dallas (4-4)
Coach Berger blames his losses on fumbles, I think he just sucks. Either way Dallas is still the favorite to repeat but must get into playoff shape and secure a playoff berth first. Never count them out with a healthy QB Eagles.
4. Green Bay (2-7)
When I picture Ghost playing tecmo I see him playing with one of those hats where you can put 2 cans of beer in and sip through a straw. This is perfect for tecmo since you can still control your players with both hands. Recently playing an injured Dan Marino for an entire game, I dont think coach Ghost is focused on this year and is looking to the draft for some help.
5. Los Angeles (0-5)
Slacker BPK is always making excuses that he has this thing called "school" which is preventing him from playing his WTF games. When he has has a chance to play things havent gone good as Kid's GMing and bpk's skills dont matchup all that well. Nonetheless bpk is an improved player and with a year or two to get the team to his liking they could be contending for a playoff berth.
NFC EAST
1. New York Giants (7-3)
Unfortunately for all of us the Giants are in 1st place in the division and we are going to have to hear about TECSYSTEM for another year. MRTSB has gotten younger and filled some holes to make his team a contender. They probably dont have quite enough talent to be a super bowl favorite, but they could easily score an upset in the playoffs.
2. San Diego (6-2)
CPR is going for it all this year. Emmitt and Boomer headline a crazy offense that is perfect for his grind it out never pass style. Anything less than a Super Bowl berth will be a disappointment.
3. SF (4-5)
The Bo trade hasnt quite worked out for Arn, and the 49ers are going to need to start playing better if they expect to make the playoffs. This team has alot of old stars so either this year or next will be there best chance to get into the playoffs.
4. Denver (4-5)
Perennial NFC touter and underachiever, Palmer has not made any headway to being a playoff contender in the crappy NFC. Denver still has a chance to get there but they will need to play stellar tecmo from here on out.
5. Washington (3-6)
ChiefsJR continues to struggle and Klingler has not been the answer at QB he was hoping for. A few more drafts should have this team ready to make some noise in the underwhelming NFC.
NFC NORTH
1. Cincy (8-1)
MRTSB predicted lord to miss the playoffs this year, which raises questions about mrtsb's mental state and TECSYSTEM in general. All the key players are still here for the most successful franchise in WTF history, and another SUper Bowl berth is on the horizon. The team is getting old, and it will be interesting to see what direction lord goes this offseason.
2. Buffalo (7-3)
Brooks has turned into one of those athletes that make silly guarantees about winning games(In this case the Super Bowl). Unlike those silly athletes, Brooks might have a chance to actually make this happen. Jimbo only has so much longer to go so the Bills will have to make it happen sooner than later.
3. KC (5-2)
Eamons is once again in playoff contention but is clearly the underdog in this pathetic excuse for a tecmo conference. Haddix and JJ will need to come up big if they want to be a cinderella story.
4. Houston (5-5)
GM Lefty has been a bust so far but coach Lefty continues to grind out wins using nothing but Wood. If the Oilers ever get some quality players they could make some noise as a wildcard contender.
5. Philly (0-7)
The eagles are on the way to their 2nd straight winless season. This team needs help everywhere, especially on defense which has been getting destroyed.
AFC PLAYOFF TEAMS
1. Seattle
2. New Orleans
3. Pitt
4. Dallas
NFC PLAYOFF TEAMS
1. Cincy
2. SD
3. Bills
4. Giants

Um, I find this picture very amusing in my head.

Uh-oh, predicting another first round Sea vs Dal matchup, huh? I hope you enjoyed your long offseason last year b/c you'll have another one this year if your predictions work out... and I'll be lugging around ring #2 while I go visit Ron Hall and RJ in the offseason to discuss draft strategy.
