Final attribute caps
The final attribute caps for the World Tecmo Federation are below. I have talked to at least half of you in one way or another about the caps in general and have gotten a lot of good feedback. I have spent a great deal of time deliberating over these caps. Overall, the key is fairness. The goal is to encourage quality game play and to maintain a fair and fun league. Not everyone is going to like the caps established here, but my hope is that everyone will find the caps to be fair. Here they are. QB RS: 25 RP: 69 MS: 31* HP: 13 PS: 81 PC: 69** ACC: 50 (irrelevant) APB: 81 * Quarterback maximum speed will be 31 with three possible exceptions. 1) QB Eagles, who shall be capped at 56 MS 2) Quarterbacks who currently have 31 MS, can, out of fairness to the owners who drafted them thinking that they would be eligible for an increase in speed, achieve a MS of 38. 3) The College Committee possesses the right to make specific exceptions in rare cases (Michael Vick, Kordell Stewart, etc). If a QB comes into the league with a maximum speed greater than 31, he will never be eligible for a MS increase, regardless of statistics. ** Quarterback pass control will be 69 with two exceptions. 1) Players currently with PC greater than 69 2) The College Committee possesses the right to make specific exceptions in rare cases (Peyton Manning, etc.) RB RS: 50 RP: 69 MS: 63* HP: 94 BC: 81 RC: 63 * Running back maximum speed will be 63. A 63 MS back who leads the league in rushing yardage AND earns a performance increase based on the random roll will be eligible to have their MS increased to 69. This will have a natural effect on how many such running backs will be in the league at a given time, and over time will ensure that the best running back in the league is one that earned their way into that position. Also, the College Committee possesses the right to make specific exceptions in rare cases (possibly Marshall Faulk, LaDainian Tomlinson, Terrell Davis, etc.) WR RS: 50 RP: 69 MS: 63* HP: 13 BC: 81 RC: 75* * The same rule applies for WR as RB. A 63 MS WR who leads the league in receiving yardage AND earns a performance increase based on the random roll will be eligible to have their MS increased to 69. Also, the College Committee possesses the right to make specific exceptions to MS and RC in rare cases (Randy Moss, Herman Moore, etc.) TE RS: 44 RP: 69 MS: 56 HP: 75 BC: 81 RC: 75 OL RS: 25 RP: 69 MS: 50 HP: 75 DL RS: 50 RP: 56 MS: 69 HP: 75 INT: 31 QUICKNESS: 50 (irrelevant) LB RS: 50 RP: 56 MS: 69 HP: 75 INT: 56 QUICKNESS: 50 (irrelevant) DB RS: 50 RP: 56 MS: 75* HP: 75 INT: 81* QUICKNESS: 50 (irrelevant) *A 75 MS DB may not exceed 75 INT. A 81 INT DB may not exceed 69 MS. K KA: 81 AKB: 81 P PA: 81 For all positions, the College Committee reserves the right to introduce a player with attribute(s) higher than those listed as the caps if the player clearly merits such consideration. If a player enters with an attribute higher than the cap, they will never be eligible for an increase in that attribute, until aging forces them below the cap. Thank you all for your time. Like I said, at this point the caps are non-negotiable. Let's go with these caps and if adjustments need to be made at some point down the road in future offseasons, we can take another look. Keep an eye out for final information regarding Qualifying Conditions for Attribute Increases in the next day or two. Best wishes and good luck the rest of this season. Keep getting your games played!
