Draft Smack Talk Wow. I did not see Palmer going with Bledsoe at #1. Interesting pick in my opinion, but Ive never really been a big fan of the high PS QBs because Im a JJ machine. Also, those of you with high picks I am still looking to possibly move up, so if I havent hit you up on PMs and are interested in dealing let me know.

Like I told you earlier...
Brunell 56 PC = 10%
Bledsoe 56+ PC = 75%

Umm...GhostDog I think made a bad pick. From what I know Buchannon would be better ,minus the HP, and Okoye is 32 next year and aged...he left a young Okoye on the board.
Not sayin Lynch will be a bad player, just think Ghost coulda utilized his pick better.
What you say to that Ghost?? Maybe Im missing something...
LordSummerisle- 04-12-2008
I think the choice of Buchanan or Lynch depends on how you like to defend the run. Obviously Buchanan stands a better chance at being a premier pass defender but Lynch should almost certainly be one of those Fulcher types that can just bowl over the WR2 and make the tackle on run 3 whereas Buchanan does not have that same potential. I probably would've picked Buchanan personally but I don't think Ghost's pick was outlandish or anything.

I think Buchanan at 6 could be one of the better picks all draft.

I think Buchanan at 6 could be one of the better picks all draft.
Yeah, considering Terrell Buckley, a similar DB, went 1st overall last year.

Can the admins send out a mass email telling everyone the draft is going on. I mean for Miami to miss his pick is pretty sad. Another knock against the AFC.

The draft started Wednesday. That is four days time to be able to check the board for five minutes, and see the draft is under way. Also, sending a list with 5 players names on it would have only taken a few minutes. Although I do feel it is unfortunate Altony has not been around, this is the third off season we have had. Teams understand that it moves relatively quick, and it is your responsibility to check the boards. If anyone sees him on AIM, hit him up, or if anyone has his email, shoot him a line. Other than that I don't think there is much else anyone can do.

I checked to make sure all owners had logged into the board at some point between when I posted that the draft would be timed and 12:00 noon on Friday when the draft was set to begin. All had done so.
Also, as soon as Altony went on the clock last night, I PMed him to let him know he was up. His missing the pick is on him, not the league admins.

Steal of the draft M.Straham by the Chiefs would have been mine if Summerisle won the Superbowl
Ghost Dog- 04-12-2008
Screw Buchanan and his prettyboy ways. Lynch has a chance at becoming a "fuck you up" freak on the field. As far as Bettis goes, I'm not sure I want another Honky type RB. I stand by my pick.
BigFatPaulie5- 04-13-2008
I loved Altony's recovery, taking Marvin Jones. I thought that was an amazing pick. I could have saw him taking Jones at 5 or whatever his original spot was and thinking it was a good pick. And yes, Strahan to Eamon is a great selection, and is dangerous.

Elvis Grabrac pick by the bengels makes no sense to me as he has one of the best qbs in the league. I was going to take him but .....he gone.

Feel free to make an offer....
The rationale is that Everett is getting old and I see no other good QBs on the horizon that I would be able to get with my usual bad first round picks. So it's all about value to me. Grbac has a 95% chance of making my roster; the same cannot be said of many of the other players I could have chosen.
That said, Grbac also gives me some major trade bait....so anyone who wants him....let me know...
BigFatPaulie5- 04-13-2008
Personally, I like Lord's pick of Grbac. It showed foresight, as Everett is 30 and could go at any time, depending on the dice. This is probably going to be the most fruitful Qb class for some years, and he probably won't be in position to take a decent quarterback down the line. Smart pick Lord.
