Browns @ Seahawks AFC Championship Game
Here's the thing: I literally spent over an hour writing a recap. I watched the NSM, broke down every quarter and every drive, and wrote in my thoughts, the longest and most excellent recap I have ever written. Unfortunately, I took so long to write it, that it logged me out, and henceforth when I went to submit everything was lost, including my time. So here's the super quick, I don't feel like doing that again recap of a most excellent adventure. 1st Qtr- 4 Barry runs lead Cleveland to 7-0 lead. Amp Lee comes right back and busts one, 7-7. 2nd Qtr- I am forced to punt on a 4th and 17. Opus hits a wide open Jimmy Smith on a bomb. 14-7 Hawks going into half time. 3rd Qtr- Opus scores on a Simms to Baker strike. 21-7 Hawks. 4th Qtr- Browns in hurry up mode score on a nice juke on a 6 yd run by Barry with 4 minutes and 6 seconds remaining. 21-14 Seahawks. Browns onside is recovered by Opus but he goes 4 and out and turns the ball over to the Browns. This is the last time Opus would touch the ball this season. With 60 yards in front of them with 2 minutes left. Some timely passes, and some nice runs and screen passes to Barry set the Browns up, and Barry takes it in for his 3rd score with 14 seconds lefts. OT- Browns call tails, because it never fails, and win the toss. Peete fakes out a blitzing McMillan, by stopping short of the lone of scrimmage, and hits a wide open Al Toon for a 35 yard gain. Now it is 4th and 9,at midfield, 3 mintues left. Browns going for it all call a pass, and the grea-*test*-('") play in Browns history happens. Peete is under great pressure and a drone is grappling his ass. I tap A like I have never tapped before and throw him off me. I have a split second to get a pass, and blindly hit B, before getting pummeled by two more defenders. Brad Muster throws off his defender and runs to the ball, catches it, and rumbles to the 20 yard line. This was better than Eli Manning to David Tyree in my book. Everything was on the line. 2 more Barry runs sets the Browns up with a 1st and goal at the 3 yard line. Learning from prior mistakes, the Browns call the field goal unit on. Closing my eyes, I slam the B button as hard as I can, and when I open them, Chip Lohmiller is celebrating a game winning field goal in over time to send the Browns to the Super Bowl!!! Browns 24, Seahawks 21 Opus, one hell of a game, and an excellent season man. Now it's time to hope and pray, and support the 1993 AFC CHAMPION CLEVELAND BROWNS in the Super Bowl for the first time in their existence! Yay!
