BFP's Pre-Season Predictions I've never done this before, and was bored, so here we go.
AFC SOUTH
1. Cleveland Browns 9-7. I would be remissed if I didn't choose my self to at least repeat to win the division. The Browns didn't do much in the off season, but they did add a stud OL, and had a couple perf gains add key positions. With Barry and Lloyd anchoring the team, anything is possible.
2. New Orleans Saints 8-8. The Saints will once again be a challenger for the division and a playoff spot. With Cornelious Bennett receiving a perf gain and added help on the defense this team could make some noise. Marion Butts will once again aid the offense.
3. Atlanta 6-10. The Falcons had a tough loss in Thurman Thomas this off season, but recovered nicely with the addition of rookie Jerome Bettis. With a few breaks, and a little help on defense, this team could surprise.
4. New England 6-10. This team needed some speed at the QB position, and addressed it with the drafting of Mark Brunell. Edgar Bennett is also a very capable running back. It may take Sstruck a little while to get used to going from a 6ms qb to 31ms, but when he figures it out watch out.
5. Miami 5-11. With the shocking retirement of Neal Anderson, and some more tough luck on rolls, look for more of the same from the Dolphins who almost seem resigned to their fate.
AFC WEST
1. Seattle 12-4. The rich get richer. After finishing with the best record in WTF last year, Opus went out and aquired Bo Jackson. Add in a couple nice draft pick selections, and it seems like once again the AFC will go through Seattle.
2. Dallas 10-6. Even if you can't see through all his BS trash talking, you have to see one of the most potent offenses in the league. With Randy, Rison, and now Garrison Hearst on offense, and some help added on defense, I look for the Cowboys to rebound this year.
3. Pittsburgh 7-9. This is a team that can go either way to me. If swamp can get a new game plan together using his newly acquired 56 ms Rb, and not rely on the JJ so much, he could definitely notch a few more victories. His defense still remains stout even with the loss of Rod Woodson.
4. Green Bay 6-10. I have to admit, I know little about Ghost's style of play, as I am not sure I have ever played him in WTF. I do know the addition of hard hitting John Lynch can do nothing but help his team. Another team that with a few breaks could be a force to reckon with.
5. Los Angeles 5-11. After coming off a tough season, the Raiders decided to go another direction other than Andre Ware. Unfortunately Trent Green probably will not work out, and its back to Ware again. BPKC is a talented owner though and may prove me wrong.
NFC EAST
1. San Diego 10-5-1. Another great team that got some superb addition with perf gains, and a talented OL acquired through the draft. CPR is a perennial playoff conteder, and with DT on defense and Emmit on offense this year looks no different. Has SD finally found their Qb though?
2. Denver 10-6. Even though Palmer didn't hit on all his picks, I love the stability Drew Bledsoe brings to this team. Denver reeled off a bunch of victories at the end of the season, and I see no reason why he can't continue to do so going forward.
3. New York Giants 9-7. Mr. Tsb continues to be the most unpredictable owner in WTF. Trading for help at LB will help, but one must wonder why he didn't just stay put and take Armstead himself. Also grabbing an aged Rod Woodson fits his playing style, but at the cost of a young 56 ms Rb seems a little high to me. Still, he has proven me wrong many a times, so I am going to give him some credit here, and predict a 9-7 season.
4. San Francisco 7-9. He still has Warren Moon, but the Bo experiment lasted only 1 year. I liked his plan to attack the defense through the draft and he sured up some holes there. Being in such a competitive division though, somebody has to catch some bad breaks this year, so why not Arn?
5. Washington 7-9. To me, Chiefs Jr had one of the best drafts in the off season. Ray Buchanan is going to be a stud for years to come, and will help shut down the pass. With Runnin' Ricky Watters, I see no reason why the Skins will not be in playoff contention come the end of the regular season.
NFC NORTH
1. Cincinnati 11-4-1. Lord has been the NFC representative to the Super Bowl every year from the inauguration of WTF. Lord added a ton of young, new players to his roster and it can only improve his team. If the Bengals were in the AFC I could see 15-16 win season, but since he is not, a 11-13 win season is on order.
2. Buffalo 10-6. Brooks was the winner in this year's draft rolling ceremony. An already talented team he added some nice new starters, as well as some much valued depth. This may be Brooks' year to push towards the Super Bowl.
3. Kansas City 10-6. Eamon had a rough spot in the playoffs last year, but his team is full of depth. He is also a very talented GM and owner, and with Strahan wreaking havoc in the opponents backfield I see no reason why he won't be back to his usual tricks again this year.
4. Houston 9-7. Lefty has added Gil Byrd to his team, and seems to think he may be the savior of his defense. If he plays anything like did like last year, he might just be right. Woodside will continue to terrorize opponents defenses, but the lack of a quarterback just may be the thing that holds him back from the playoffs.
5. Philadelphia 3-13. I am not just predicting 1 win this year, but 3 for Fivestar this year. He played much better towards the end of the season, and was very competitive. Robert Smith was a welcome addition to running backs, as he won't lose games by putting the rock on the ground. The one glaring hole on this team is quarterback, as the loss of Bernie could come back to haunt him.

thanks for the vote of confidence, bfp, but i must say that this is the year the super bowl comes back to the nfc in the hands of the bills. since i have no credibility in my predictions anymore, i figure i'll just call it every season from here on out.
